HOTEL AMANEK ASAKUSA STATION, opened in July 2018

Hotel Amanek Asakusa Ekimae opened near Asakusa Station in July 2018. In addition to Asakusa, Hotel Amanek has expanded to include Ginza, Kamata, two locations in Kyoto and Beppu, Kanazawa, and Asahikawa, based on the concept of "My hotel that connects travel and the city." By booking online, you can receive a one-hour extended check-out time and complimentary mineral water.
Although it's located in front of Asakusa Station, it's on the Asakusa subway line, so it doesn't really ring a bell, but it's close to the station, has a great view of the Skytree from the rooftop, and is a relatively new building, so it's highly rated. However, the negative points are that the rooms are small and there aren't many restaurants nearby. This is a review of a standard double room for single use, costing 8,800 yen.

1. Access from Asakusa Station on the Asakusa Line
- Get off at the front of the train at Asakusa Station on the Toei Asakusa Line. There are no escalators from the platform, only stairs, so take the elevator to the ticket gate floor. Exit the ticket gate for Komagatabashi on the opposite side of Sensoji Temple and go straight in the direction of the arrow.

- Go all the way to the back and take the elevator to the ground level on your left (Exit A2b) to the ground level (Exit A2a has stairs only)

- Exit onto the ground and turn left

- Hotel Amanek Asakusabashi Ekimae is on the first corner, and you can arrive in about 2 minutes after exiting the station ticket gate.

2. Hotel Amanek Asakusa Station
- Since I had paid in advance, I only had to complete the procedures for nationwide travel support at the front desk. After that, there was no explanation of the facilities or amenities, and I was simply told to pick up my loungewear from the shelf at the back and then headed to my room.

- Amenities provided in the room included tea, instant coffee, a razor, a hairbrush, a body towel, and a toothbrush set.

- The microwave in front of the elevator on the first floor is located in such a narrow space that if someone happens to be using it, you have to move around to get on the elevator.

- 1F space behind the front desk

- The corridor was so narrow that I had to turn sideways when passing other passengers... This time, my room was a standard double room on the second floor, 11m2, with a 131cm bed width. With the 8,800 yen travel support discount and instant use of Ikyu points, it came to 6,900 yen.

- The floor map of the 2nd floor, corner room 208, facing the Sumida River, has no particular merits and there is no view from the 2nd floor. Room 207 seems to be used as a warehouse, and the entrance to the room is sometimes blocked with cleaning equipment, making it difficult to enter and exit the room.

- On the bed are the bedding and amenities picked up on the first floor.

- The desk area is quite cramped, facing the window. I think you can see the Skytree from the window if you're on the 4th floor or higher.

- View from the second floor window. The screen doesn't rise, so it slides up and down to let in light.

- Hair dryer on the desk

- Delonghi water heater

- The refrigerator also has an ice-making compartment, but it's installed in a rather inconvenient location because the bed right in front of it blocks it.

- Separate type pajamas

- Hanging space

- As mentioned in the reviews, the bathtub is quite large.

- Hand soap

- Towels

- Shampoo, conditioner, body soap

- toilet

- There is an outlet and USB port next to the pillow, but the 1.5cm high shelf is too small to place my phone (it would fall off), so I have to charge it on the desk.

- The space in front of the TV was really narrow and difficult to find. To get to the desk (?) at the back, I had to bend my body and put my hands on the bed (tears).

- The view from the rooftop terrace, open 24 hours a day

- I had dinner at Billiken Asakusa branch of Chuka Soba, with the "Hand-kneaded Chinese Noodles with Everything" set for 1,350 yen. Many restaurants are closed on Monday nights, so my choices were limited.

- I used the "Tadaima Tokyo Plus" coupon to buy souvenirs at Haneda Airport (3 types of Toraya yokan for ¥270 each, Osumi Tamaya brandy dorayaki for ¥260, Obusedo chestnut kanoko tart for ¥330, Kurian cake for ¥330, Bunmeido Tsuki Mikasa Sakura for ¥140) for a total of ¥2,019 including tax, which was a great deal!
