This is the most recommended way to get to Kyoto Station. However, due to traffic conditions, arrival times may be delayed, so we recommend checking the "service status" in advance.

    Just outside the arrival gate at the baggage claim area, there is an airport bus information board on a pillar where you can check the bus status and departure times. (The photo shows the exit on the ANA side; the Japan Airlines exit is a little to the left.)

      The next train to Kyoto leaves at 18:50 and takes approximately 60 minutes.

      Once you've confirmed the time, head to the exit behind the pillar.

      Look for the "Long-distance bus" sign at the airport exit. The elevator will be directly in front of the exit. Follow the red arrow to the escalator.

      The escalator is located in a slightly inconspicuous place next to the passage to the monorail

      Once you get off the escalator, you will see a long-distance bus ticket machine directly in front of you. You can use a transportation IC card, so if you have an IC card, go directly to the bus stop.

      Platform 2 for Kyoto is located diagonally to the right of the ticket machine, just in front of the bus.

      ◽️ Monorail and Hankyu Railway (two transfers: Hotarugaike Station, Juso Station)

      This is a recommended way to get to Shijo Kawaramachi by train, or if you need to avoid traffic jams on the bus.

      There are two routes with a transfer at Minamiibaraki Station, but the main difference is

      1. The fare is 90 yen cheaper than if you transfer at Minamiibaraki Station.
      2. When transferring at Juso Station, it is convenient to transfer to the express train on the opposite side of the platform.

          After exiting the ticket gates at Hotarugaike Monorail Station, go right and then go right again until you reach the Hankyu Railway ticket gates on your left.

          At Juso Station, you will arrive at platform 4, and platform 5 for Kyoto Kawaramachi will be on the opposite side of the same platform.

            This is a recommended way to get to Shijo Kawaramachi by train, or if you need to avoid traffic jams on the bus.

            There are two routes, with a transfer at Hotarugaike Station, but the main differences are as follows:

            1. The fare is 90 yen more expensive than if you transfer at Hotarugaike Station.
            2. If you transfer at Minamiibaraki Station, you can arrive about 15 minutes earlier if you transfer to the "Limited Express" train at Takatsukishi Station depending on the time of day.
            3. Use this when your destination is a station where "limited express" trains do not stop, such as Nishikyogoku or Saiin Station.

            If you take a taxi from the airport, proceed to the connecting walkway, just as if you were going to the Osaka Monorail platform from the arrival lobby on the second floor of the Central Terminal Building, without going down to the first floor.
