Hotel Unizo Yokohama Station West, opened in October 2018 < Closed >

The hotel we chose near Yokohama Station was Hotel Unizo Yokohama Ekimae Nishi, which is popular with female guests for its women-only floor and ample amenities. On the other hand, male guests commented favorably on the fact that there are many restaurants nearby and that the hotel is relatively new, having opened in October 2018. The only drawback is that it is about 6 minutes away from the station.
UNIZO, which operates hotels and office buildings, operates 14 hotels in Japan, split into three categories: premium business hotels, including the Hotel UNIZO Yokohama Ekimae Nishi where I stayed, as well as standard and casual business hotels. The concept of premium business hotels is "Staying in elegance. Enjoying quality comfort."

3. Basic information |
1. Access from JR Yokohama Station
- From JR Yokohama Station, take the central aisle and head towards Takashimaya at the west exit. The JR South ticket gate is the closest. From the Keikyu Line, the South ticket gate is also the closest, but there are stairs only to the ticket gate from the platform level. Go through Joinus on the east side of Takashimaya (JR station side).

- Turn right at the L'Occitane fork, but it's closed outside of opening hours, so you can also go left.

- Exit Joinus, walk along Parnard Street and cross Minami-Sachi Bridge.

- Although it is called Minami-Sachi Bridge, it is quite wide and doesn't look like a bridge, but you can see Bic Camera on the left.

- Continue straight through the downtown area and when you see Ore no French on your right, the hotel is just around the corner.

- It's about 10 minutes from the platform at Keikyu Yokohama Station, and about 5 minutes outside from the area where you exit Joinus. It's in a busy downtown area, so you'll have to walk through a busy road with a suitcase, but you can check out restaurants for breakfast and dinner as you go.

2. Hotel Unizo Yokohama Station West
- Is this the entrance? You might even think it's the back door, but this is the only entrance.

- The front desk is on the 2nd floor, along with the lobby, restrooms, vending machines, washing machines, microwaves, and smoking rooms. The guest rooms are on the 3rd to 13th floors.

- Amenities can be picked up from the amenity corner in front of the front desk, and include two types of combs, bath salts, mouthwash, body lotion, etc., highlighting the hotel's distinction as a premium business hotel.

- There is an internet corner along the wall of the lobby, which may be convenient for quick searches while waiting for an appointment. You can also pick up the morning edition of the Yomiuri Shimbun.

- All you have to do is insert a coin into the fully automatic washing machine in the service corner.

- Vending machines and microwaves

- The atmosphere of the corridor. This time we are staying on the 5th floor.

- The room I stayed in this time was on the 5th floor, a single room for 7,800 yen (tax included). For some reason, the video was completely black and I couldn't crop the photos, so the other photos were taken from the website.

- I received water at the front desk when I checked in. POLA body lotion, grapefruit-scented bath salts, mouthwash, etc.

- In-room drink set

- Loungewear
- The atmosphere is quite different, but it's the same type of room. The window opens, but it's frosted glass, so you can't feel the morning sun.

- It still feels brand new, having opened in October 2018. Amenities include bath salts, and you can relax in the large bathtub.

- Large bathtub

- The 13th floor is a ladies' floor, but it is limited to certain plans. There is also a fully automatic washing machine, which is a great service for female guests.

- We chose Tenkaippin, diagonally across from the hotel, for dinner as there was a line of several people.

- I used the "Let's go to Kanagawa!" discount coupon and bought Laudemio olive oil at the same DEAN & DELUCA as last time. It was only about 4,000 yen, but I splurged.
