Smart Inn Atami

In order to enjoy the Kawazu cherry blossoms first thing in the morning, I was looking for a place to stay in Atami the night before and found Prince Smart Inn Atami .

It opened in April 2021 and is relatively new, being close to the station .

Since you can also enjoy a day trip to the hot springs in Atami, we booked a Standard Double room for two people for 13,502 yen (after Ikyu Diamond discount).

1. Access from the station

From JR Atami Station , exit the ticket gate (one gate) and go left.

After exiting the ticket gate, go through the bus terminal on the left and you will find Prince Smart Inn Atami .

The foot bath in front of the station ( Ieyasu no Yu ) is open from 9:00 to 16:00

2. Prince Smart Inn Atami

- Check-in is done at the machine on the left, but cash is not accepted so it is recommended to pay in advance.

-If you register for the Seibu Prince Hotel smartphone app as a member, you can check in and check out using your smartphone, which can also be used as your room key, so I'd like to try that out next time.

・In the back is the Japanese tea room "Hashibami." It seems to be popular, and is more of a cafe space than a lobby?

・Convenient lockers available before check-in (cannot be used after check-out 😂)

・There are also large suitcase-sized lockers in the back.

・Guest rooms are on the 2nd to 8th floors
・Laundry room, vending machines, ice maker, microwave on the 2nd floor ・Pick up amenities in front of the elevator (there are no cups in the room, so don't forget to bring a few paper cups )

・Although it's not shown in the photo, the ceiling is relatively high, giving it an open feeling 😊

There is no folding luggage rack, so this table is used as a luggage rack 😩

There's no power outlet or USB by my bedside!

There is a refrigerator and a safety deposit box next to the entrance.

・There is a space at the top where you can store a suitcase.

If you remove the divider inside the cabinet, it looks like you can fit large bottles inside.

I was a little surprised at how small the toilet seat was.

- Check the 2nd floor, and you can check the laundry status from the TV in your room.

3. Breakfast

Breakfast is served on the first floor from 6:30 to 11:00 (for guests staying in February 2024).

・This is the breakfast (ochazuke) from a stay in May 2024.

Closed Wednesdays 14:00 - 21:00 ¥500, towel with soap ¥100

・The water is directly drawn from the source, but because it is very hot, you can adjust the amount of water added using the faucet in the bathtub.

Overall ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

There are only two room types: standard double and twin.
All plans include breakfast . Take-out is available depending on the season. (The breakfast served during my stay in May was ochazuke, and take-out was not available.)

The price can be quite high depending on the season, but if you can make a reservation for under 10,000 yen for 2 people...
It's a shame that the lobby has been turned into a space for Japanese coffee shop customers and there is no drink service for hotel guests.

😄 The high ceilings give the room a sense of openness. 😄 Close to the station and a convenience store (Family Mart). 😄 Fluffy towels provided, but no face towels (only bath towels and hand towels).
