JR EAST HOTEL METS YOKOHAMA, opened in 2020 and accessible from Yokohama Station without getting wet in the rain

JR East Hotel Mets Yokohama opened in June 2020. Hotels in Tokyo are expensive in April, so I decided to stay in Yokohama. Shinagawa is about 20 minutes away by JR or Keikyu line. Shibuya is also 30-40 minutes away, so if you can't find a reasonably priced hotel in Tokyo, I recommend considering a hotel near Yokohama.

• If you are heading to the hotel from JR Yokohama Station, exit the west exit and follow the signs to NEWoMan.

• When you exit the JR Central North ticket gate, go to the West Exit on your right

• Go up the escalator at the west exit and turn right to NEWoMan

• It seems possible to walk through NEWoMan even outside of store hours (especially since there was no sign indicating closing times near the entrance).

• The lobby has a relaxed atmosphere and there is a coffee machine, so it seems like a good place to meet up.

• The hallway, this time room 425. The reservation was for a superior single room for 9,900 yen, but after the travel support discount, it was 7,920 yen, so I earned 198 Ikyu points. The front desk is on the 3rd floor, so it's the lowest room.

• The desk is about 50cm wide, and with things in front of it and the area in front of the TV being even narrower, it feels a little small for a work desk. Since the window is small, I thought it would be nice to hang the TV on the back wall, which would make the desk larger and also make it nice to watch while lying in bed.

• The TV displays a QR code for connecting to the Wi-Fi network, so it's very convenient that you don't need to enter a password to connect to the Wi-Fi network.

• You can get cups and coffee from the machine at the front desk and drink them in your room.

• Dometec refrigerators use an absorption method that uses an ammonia solution instead of a converter for cooling, making them quiet and vibration-free. I remember that my wine cellar at home was also made by Dometec, but it broke down last year and I had to replace it with a Japanese-made product.
