Hilton Okinawa Sesoko Resort: Enjoy one of the prefecture's most transparent beaches

Shiba

Hilton Okinawa Sesoko Resort opened in July 2020

It is about 10km to the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium , and about 17km to Junglia Okinawa , so it is close to many tourist attractions. Sesoko Beach, just a 2-minute walk away, is a natural beach that boasts some of the clearest waters in the prefecture .

Reservations can be made through HPCJ (Hilton Premium Club Japan), where a 25% discount is available, for a two-night stay starting at ¥63,393.

I searched for cheaper dates in September when the new semester starts and stayed there.

2. Hilton Okinawa Sesoko Resort

All rooms have an ocean view, so the back side, where the hotel entrance is located, has a fairly simple exterior.

There is a shop on the left side of the entrance where you can purchase snacks, drinks, souvenirs, etc.

The lobby space is to the right of the entrance. It gets quite crowded before and after check-in.

Check-in counter. There was also a lane reserved for Hilton Honors members.

There is an elevator and guest rooms are on the 1st to 9th floors. The rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors seem to have terraces and outdoor baths.

On the floor map, rooms 1901 and 1902 jut out towards the ocean, so room 1906 had a disappointing view.

The indoor pool on the first floor is about 10 meters long. The jacuzzi is sized for two adults, so it may get crowded in the winter.

Indoor pool

The outdoor pool is about 30m wide. If it's open, you can swim for a long time.

Sesoko Beach is just a few minutes' walk away. It is so shallow that it is difficult to swim at low tide. There is little sand in the sea, so marine shoes are a must. The water is very clear and there are plenty of fish.

Overall ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

While Sesoko Beach's high transparency scores highly, it's unfortunate that some of the staff are noticeably lacking in training. (Similar opinions can be found in reviews on various travel sites, and the beach's ratings are generally low.)

😄 You can eat ice cream in the lounge morning, noon, and night. 😄 Enjoy a three-minute fireworks display every Saturday (I haven't experienced it yet).
😄 You can enjoy the beautiful and shallow Sesoko Beach up close.

😢 Disappointing room upgrade 😢 It would have been nice if there was a chair/basin in the bathroom (which is usually not the case in Hilton hotels)
😢 Wi-Fi is paid for unless you are an Honors member (free). It's slow (around 5-10bps).
