Relax in the sauna at Dormy Inn Ikebukuro

Dormy Inn Ikebukuro

On Ikyu, "Natural Hot Spring Hojo-no-Yu Dormy Inn Ikebukuro" is ranked 15th in the Tokyo reviews ranking with a score of 4.65.

Dormy Inn offers the standard " after-bath ice cream " and " midnight noodles " service.

I previously stayed at the Dormy Inn Express Asakusa, and had a bad experience due to lack of prior research, but this time I'm staying at a relatively new hotel that opened in 2021, so I'm sure it'll be fine!

After using my Ikyu points immediately, I found a cheap date and stayed there for just 10,785 yen!

2. Natural Hot Spring, Hojo no Yu, Dormy Inn Ikebukuro

Entrance sign

The sign at the hotel entrance and the drink service in the large public bath seem to have recently started.

front

The check-in counter is on the left (although there was no one there as this photo was taken early the next morning). After a brief explanation of the hotel, we headed to our room.

lobby

A bench in the lobby space. It's perfect for meeting up with someone.

Amenities

Amenities include a hairbrush, razor, toothbrush, and cotton swabs. There is no ladies' set, so the selection is minimal.

Drink bar

Drinks next to the amenity corner.

Elevator hall

View from the elevator hall towards the lobby

elevator

Guest rooms are located on the 3rd to 14th floors. There is a restaurant, smoking booth, and vending machines on the 2nd floor.

Elevator POP

The restaurant on the 2nd floor serves naki soba noodles from 21:30 to 23:00, the drink bar at the large bath on the 15th floor is open from 15:00 to 10:00 the next day, and lactobacillus drink service is available from 5:00 to 10:00.

aisle

The hallway. My room this time was 916 on the 9th floor. It was the closest room to the elevator, but the noise didn't bother me because I relaxed in the sauna and slept soundly.

Aisle 2

Trouser press in the hallway

Floor Map

This time, I made a reservation through Ikyu for a "Non-smoking economy single room, 12 m², no shower, no view" for 10,785 yen.

Claw Set

Crawl set next to the entrance

washbasin

The bathroom is next to the closet and the toilet is on the right, separated from the bed space. The refrigerator is away from the bed, so the compressor noise isn't an issue. I like this layout.

refrigerator

In the refrigerator, there were mineral drinks and desserts. To be honest, I didn't like the desserts, so I didn't eat them this time either... 😥

desk

Desk area: It didn't feel particularly cramped for a 12m² room, but perhaps that's because there's no luggage rack or air purifier?

Bathing set

Bathing sets and towel changes can be requested at the front desk.

bed

Bed width 120cm

tv set

You can check the crowding level on the TV. It looks empty, so it's time for a quick bath.
I had two ice creams after my bath and went to bed early, so I decided to skip the midnight soba this time.

window

The view from the window. There are neighboring houses, so I never had to open the curtains.

    Overall ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

The lack of a shower is acceptable because there is a large public bath. The difference without a view was about 1,000 yen, but this time I chose it because of the price. Since it opened in 2021, I was expecting the latest facilities, but there was no lounge space, and I skipped the midnight noodle soup and stayed in my room, which was bothersome because of the smell.

Although I was able to enjoy the private sauna, my stay was less satisfying than the Dormy Inn in Kawasaki.

😄 The layout feels spacious for a 12 sq m (the refrigerator is also far from the bed)
😄 I enjoyed the delicious ice cream after my bath 😄 The room temperature was adjustable in 0.5 increments.

😩 I was bothered by the smell in the room. I don't know what it was...
😩 There was no air purifier or luggage rack, which was inconvenient.
😩 After taking a bath, I looked for a lounge, but there wasn't one on the 15th floor, so I wanted a place to relax.
