Did I do enough research beforehand?! Dormy Inn Express Asakusa

Dormy Inn Express Asakusa, which reopened in February 2021
In Asakusa, there is also the "Natural Hot Spring Ryoun no Yu Onyado Nono Asakusa," which opened in July 2019, but it received high reviews . Nono Asakusa is a ryokan-style hotel and is expensive, while EXPRESS has been renovated and is cheaper . The room was spacious at 16 square meters , so I decided to stay at "Dormy Inn EXPRESS Asakusa."

1. Access from Asakusa Station on the Asakusa Line
- The nearest exit to Asakusa Station on the Asakusa Line is "A3", but you have to climb a long flight of stairs
- The route without stairs is Exit "A2b", which is the farthest exit from the hotel.
- If you use the Ginza Line ,
- The nearest exit is "5", but you have to climb a long flight of stairs
- The route without stairs is Exit '1', but when arriving at Platform 1, you will need to take an elevator to the other side of the platform, which is inconvenient.
Be prepared for the fact that both the Ginza Line and the Asakusa Line stations can be somewhat inconvenient when accessing the hotel.

2. Dormy Inn Express Asakusa (formerly Dormy Inn Global Cabin Asakusa)
- Pay the accommodation tax of 100 yen in cash at the front desk and head to your room.

- Pick up your items at the amenity corner

- There is a restaurant next to the front desk. Dormy Inn offers free "Yonaki Soba" (Late Night Noodles) from 9:30 PM to 11:00 PM.

- The 2nd to 9th floors are guest rooms, and the 10th floor has a large bath, sauna, foot bath, laundry corner, and manga corner.

- The corridor, this room is on the 5th floor. Residential semi-double room, 16 square meters [Station side]. It was a little pricey because I booked late, but since it has a sauna, I was satisfied and booked it for 11,400 yen.

- On the floor map, the left side is the station side and the right side is the river side. When I rechecked the comments after my stay, I found that the overwhelming majority of positive reviews were from guests who stayed on the river side, and there were almost no comments from guests staying on the station side. Why...

- The door from the entrance to the room was "retro" and reminiscent of Route Inn Bashamichi.

- It was a residential type with a two-door refrigerator and microwave within sight.

- Assembled furniture-style desk

- Oops, that's not right! A chair that's so timid you wouldn't even touch it

- The closet space has plenty of hangers for long-term stays. A bedside light remote that doesn't turn off even when pressed? ? It's quite inconvenient because you have to hold it in your hand and point it at the light. (Once you turn it off, it's pitch black and you can't put it back on the wall hook...)

- The mini kitchen next to the entrance does not have any dishes or a stove.

- I think these are the only two items that were newly purchased as part of the renewal.

- Minerals and sweets provided in the refrigerator

- large freezer

- Shoe rack? I think so.

- Luggage shelf next to the air conditioner

- toilet

- bathtub

- shower head

- Shampoo, etc.

- It's a double-glazed door, which could be called a window. There's a balcony so you can go outside, but I wonder if anyone actually goes out there...

- View from the window

- Massage chairs in the foot bath corner on the 10th floor

- Laundry corner

- The large public bath is on a rotating schedule for men and women, but on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays it is for men only , and on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays it is open from 3pm to 8pm for women and from 8:30pm to 10am the next morning for men (the sauna is closed between 1am and 5am). Please note that the information is unclear on some booking sites.

- After the bath, I was given three ice creams.

- Drink service after morning bath

Overall ⭐️
It had received good reviews and had been renovated about four years ago, so it was a little pricey, but since it had a sauna I was happy to make a reservation. However, the moment I saw the "chairs that you're afraid to even touch," it was a disappointing experience that ruined everything.
😄 Sauna, soba noodles, ice cream after a bath
😩 😩 😩 Chairs you don't want to sit on, lights that are inconvenient to turn off, and even though they say it has a balcony...
😩 Access from the station
