How was B4T Tabata, a budget brand of JR Hotel?
"B4T" is a new brand launched by the JR East Group in 2023 .
Following on from Iwaki and Akabane, the former Hotel Mets Tabata (opened in 1998) will reopen in November 2023 as the third hotel, Hotel B 4T Tabata .
The hotel uses a " Suica Smart Lock " that can be used to check in and check out and also serves as a room key.
A low-priced hotel brand that offers a smart and speedy accommodation experience.
[Non-smoking] Single room for one person - Great value short stay until 7pm, I stayed here for ¥6,984 .
1. Access from the station
- From JR Tabata Station, exit the north exit and turn right
- Cross Tabata Fureai Bridge and head to the hotel's 3rd floor entrance (next to Pronto)
2. Hotel B4T Tabata
Is it more of a waiting space than a lobby?
Check-in is completely unmanned. I'm not sure if an attendant comes out from the back only in emergencies, but I never saw one during my stay.
The third floor is connected to the JR station, the bridge, and the hotel. The first floor is convenient for the convenience store.

Clothes set. The hangers were from a 100 yen store and didn't even come with a punch for pants. 😥
Reusable slippers 😥
The single room is 15 square meters, with a 140cm wide bed and a 43-inch TV. The twin/theater room is on the opposite side of the tracks, with two 120cm wide beds, a 21 square meter room, and a 49-inch TV and a 60-inch projector.

The refrigerator. It's not quiet, you can't turn it off, and it makes noise even when it's empty.
Bathrooms
The amenities were just a toothbrush and bath salts for some reason, but was the water quality questionable? I didn't have any discomfort in the shower, though...
The loungewear is separate type 😊

As a rebrand of a hotel that opened over 20 years ago, it doesn't feel old at all and is probably a fully renovated hotel.
The hotel is designed to be extremely low-cost, so those looking for relaxation and comfort may be disappointed, but it is a valuable business hotel for those who just want to sleep.
It's great that you can stay for around 10,000 yen depending on the day.
