The room at Far East Village Hotel Tokyo Asakusa, opened in April 2023, was different from the photo.

Far East Village Hotel Tokyo Asakusa opened on April 1, 2023. The hotel is operated by a Singaporean company and is the third hotel in Japan, following Ariake in July 2020 and Sakuragicho in Yokohama in 2021.

It seems that there was another hotel here before, so it seems to be a rebranding.

The concept of the hotel is "Live Like a Local," and I was told it would allow me to enjoy Tokyo casually, so I decided to stay there.

1. Access from the station

  • The nearest station is Asakusa Station on the Tsukuba Express . If you transfer to the Tsukuba Express at JR Akihabara or Oedo Line Shintomachi, take the A1 exit and head south along Kokusai Street to reach the hotel.
  • The next closest station is Tawaramachi Station on the Ginza Line . As Asakusa Station is the terminal station, you may arrive at platform 1, and it is inconvenient to go to the opposite exit using stairs or an elevator.
    • Going directly to the hotel
    • If you have heavy luggage and would like to avoid stairs if possible
  • And at Asakusa Station on the Asakusa Line , you have to climb a long flight of stairs to get to Exit A3, which is closest to the hotel. The elevator to ground level is Exit A2b, which is not on the map, so you'll need to be prepared to walk about one stop to get to the hotel.

          2. Far East Village Hotel Tokyo Asakusa

          • Entering the hotel, you will find yourself facing the front desk. There are three people at the front desk this time as well. Who will you choose? You will be forced to make a split-second decision, right?

Learning from my previous failure, I went to the person who seemed most reliable.

Confirm your address, name, and contact information. Although I had paid in advance, I had to pay the Tokyo accommodation tax of 100 yen separately in cash.

I didn't particularly need a receipt, but I thought it was strange that they didn't ask for one.

After being told that amenities would be picked up in the lobby, I was assigned room number 402, also on a lower floor...

            lobby

            • The guest rooms are located on the 2nd to 13th floors. There is a lounge on the 2nd floor and a coin laundry on the 13th floor.

            elevator

            • Is the photo of the corridor and in front of the elevator Asakusa?

            aisle

            • On the floor map, there was a four-story building next to rooms 401 and 402, and it was pitch black outside the window. There was also a 13-story building next to the six rooms on the right, so I guess there was no view.

The upper four rooms on the upper floors have tower views.

The two lower rooms on the 5th floor and above have city views (but are they connecting rooms?)

Is this a twin room? There are two beds, but they are different from the picture.

                • The loungewear is a one-piece dress. It's made of waffle fabric, but it's thin and short. And on top of that, she has long hair...

                • Hanger space. It's a little small for two people in winter. If you wear pants, the air purifier underneath gets in the way.

                  Overall ⭐️ ⭐️

Although there are few reviews, the overall rating is high at 4.0 to 5.0, but the fact that the room was different from the photo was a big minus.

We recommend a standard room with a city view for approximately +1,000 yen and a tower view for +2,000 yen.

😄 Convenient location for sightseeing in Asakusa (although access from the station is not so good)

😩 Different room from the photo (twin room) Some rooms have no space between beds.)

😩 Connecting rooms are just a worry for those who don't need them...

😩 The sink and shower room were quite small.

😩 I wish the plan stated "no view." (The room details stated "no view, no bathtub.")
